Long over due- I am bad at this game (I promise I will get better!)

So it has been a busy week since I last updated. Here we go.

The holidays came and went so fast. Christmas Eve was nice. We had a small group at our house. Mom cried and Dad was very excited about their gifts. If you do not know I got my Mom a memorial charm of our cat Garfield and for my dad a day trip to NYC with Sammi B, her dad, and myself to see Avenue Q. Christmas day we went to Rhode Island like usual. It was a nice day, very full house and a little crazy but when is my family not crazy. (Random fact that bugs me the word Rhode is considered misspelled even though it is part of a states name!)

Saturday dad and I went to the city. It was a long day but all four of us enjoyed the day and the time that we got to spend with eachother- The show was amazing. This was the second time I saw it and enjoyed it enormously.

I think I am almost done packing and figuring out how to get everything into two bags under the weight limit... it was not easy but i did it! The only thing left is harassing the insurance company about the meds because i am gone longer then 90 days and that is all the allow for a script...

I cant believe that tomorrow night starts the new year- where has the time gone...Well it is here! Isaac is spending the night and I think we are gonna just hang out and watch movies. Easy and quiet which is okay with me...

Friday Caitlin is coming up with her parents! I am excited to see her... We have a few things planned and then my going away party is Saturday night and then next week is the last week for me to be home! (at least I am working to distract me...)

I guess that is it for now...

Maine has welcomed me with open cloads

So I returned home to Maine.

The end of the semester went so fast! Te show was amazing we got held for KCACTF festival but unfortunately none of the shows will be going. Congrads though to American Century for the choice of NYC showcase. It was sad to say goodbye the theatre life at Southern but I know I will be back is just what I have to keep telling myself. The going away party was depressing but was also amazing because I saw some people who i have not seen in a while but also got to spend one last night with the people who are a family to me. Thank you to everyone who came who made life great!

So i got home tuesday night and have basically been non-stop since I got here between organizing my things from one home to the next and trying to screw my head on straight for what is coming with me and what will have to be left behind- I made a list but it seems like I will have to cut down a bit....

cleaning, decorating, shoveling snow and such has consumed my time. Road trips with the ones that i have missed and will miss dearly. Wrapping gifts, putting together toys, and trying to find a minute to relax and update the blog... is it really day 5 since i got home... i do not believe it where has the time gone... but it makes me realize that my departure is gonna be here before i know it...

I guess that is really it for now. Holidays are fast approaching. Happy Holidays to you and yours.

A little overdue....

Its been awhile....I have been so busy between end of the semester madness, CP stuff, and packing everything up....

So life in the past week and a half. Teched the show- opened show- had response for show and now we close on Saturday which I can not believe. Talk about a whirlwind from Thanksgiving to this coming Tuesday when I leave for Maine. I still can not believe that I will not technically be back in New Haven for a little over 9 months...

I have basically packed up my life once again and will have to do a major re-organization, re-calculation of my life... I need to just find one place and stay but i doubt that will happen anytime soon. I am always amazed on how much stuff I have everywhere.

The shows have been going great. The audiences have been on the smaller size and especially with the weather last night it was very small.

When I get home I will be working at LPL, CLT and puttering around the house as I get ready and keep myself busy as I wait for the 11th to get here. I am ready to leave, I am nervous to leave, I am very thankful for the opportunity, I am impatient for it to get here. But for now I will have to wait for the day and keep saying goodbye to friends and family from all around. Sunday is going to be very sad because I know that it will be the last time I see some of these people for months... but I knew it was coming it just seems to have crept up on me.

Thats it for now....

Things I am going to miss the most

People keep asking me about what am I going to miss most while I am away.

It is a hard question to answer because I could list tons of material things such as my cell phone or TV but it is more about the challenge that is ahead of me that will I guess change the way that I look about what I miss the most.

Things such as:
Time with friends and family
The little things that make me smile that will change as I discover the world around me
Trips and the adventure that comes with them
Realizing what I have and what others dont.
One thing I believe I will miss the most is water- fresh water. I dont care about cold showers but fresh water to brush my teeth with will be a thing i know i will miss.
Being able to pick up a phone and call someone- yes I can call on the computer but it really is not the same.
These are some of things I will miss but I will keep you all posted on what I really miss when I get there...

Thanksgiving...

Tuesday November 25th, 2008

Today was a fun but sad day- I guess I will have to prepare myself for so-longs and not good-byes as the weeks and next few months come to an end. It is only about 45 days before I will be getting on a jet plane and not only saying goodbye to family and friends but to a country that I have called home for the last almost 21 years of my life. I wonder ever day what my new life will be like, is it going to be something that I will call home? Is this a place that I will decide could be a place that I want to live for the rest of my life? There are so many unanswered questions that will not be answered within the next weeks or months but will be answered when on January 12th I land in a new country, a new city, a new school. How will registering for classes by foot be? How will not have warm running water affect me? How will the heat affect me? So many questions and no answers today or tomorrow.

Only time will tell me what my life has in store for me and as I sit here on a train traveling to the American holiday of holidays I think of my freedoms, of my blessings, of the days that so many people fought for us to have these freedoms. As we as an American people, we dawn on a new era. We have a president named Barack Hussein Obama, this is a dawn that I am glad that I got to see. Will a woman be next? Will a black woman be next? Who will it be and how is it going to work for our country. History repeats itself, this is something I learned at a young age and feel that my prediction is correct as I said so many years ago... black men and then women had the right to vote. So this is following the suit of so many years ago.

I sit on a train and feel the ever so slight movements and think of the days when people didn’t have this luxury and how I have complained for so many hours in the part 3 years about not having a car to travel with. What choices did the past have…and the bigger question what options will I have 3 months from now if I want to travel somewhere- how will I get somewhere?

I am blessed, I have an honor, I have an opportunity to be who I want to be, to be the change I want to see in the world. To cry BECAUSE it is over and to CRY because it happened and not to be afraid of the tears that I shed and to be glad that I have been given this opportunity. I am not a religious person but I do consider myself a spiritual person: we have each been given a short time on this planet to do what it is that WE want to do, not what other people want us to do. I am ready to make a commitment to myself to do what it is that I want to do and not let any one else tell me any different.

So be thankful, be considerate, be who it is you want to be.

Love-midge

PS. I find out on Monday if all goes as plan about the national geographic thing. But no matter what I promise great stories and great pictures for all of you to see.

It is Sunday now and I have returned to my dorm from a short but nice holiday break. The blog is deciding it does not want to work- stupid thing…. Well This week was nice but I do wish I was able to see Aunt Doria- but I got to see most of the family which is always nice. It will be Christmas before we know it and I will get to see all the family that I didn’t get to see this break.

40 Days on Tuesday- It is going so fast- But after some shopping this weekend I feel like I am close to having everything that I need for my trip! So excited! I am glad to know some people are reading my blog but i wish they would comment..

That is it for now…

Painting my face up, for the kill
A little bit of glitter goes a long, long way
But if you never see my face
How will you know if you feel is real
I've been trying to be something, I'll never be
But I'm nothing special, there's no mystery
I've been hiding from the world, and from myself
Wanting love so desperately, oh so desperately
If you see all the hurt in my eyes
Will you laugh, will you run, will you carry me
If I tell you that I'm weak and I'm scared
Will that seem absurd
I'm the loneliest girl in the world
I can never let you see the girl inside
Won't let my defenses slide
I can't let you see my tears
A little bit of fire drives the boys away
But maybe I might let you stay
If you show me that your love is real
I've been trying to be something, I'll never be
But I'm nothing special, there's no mystery
I've been hiding from the world, and from myself
Wanting love so desperately, oh so desperately
If you see all the hurt in my eyes
Will you laugh, will you run, will you carry me
If I tell you that I'm weak and I'm scared
Will that seem absurd
I'm the loneliest girl in the world

Beginning of the week

Yesterday was only Monday but it seems like the week is half over.

I had test #2 in physics- it was not too bad but I feel like i got a few questions wrong.

Today I have been working on my independent study stuff for most of the morning/afternoon but I have to go to class soon. ( have a really bad headache right now and the load music will not be fun, but I have to go). I then have rehearsal from 6-9 with a run with Dr. Garvey at 7. I think we are ready for a small audience.

Tomorrow I am working from 9am- midnight: A long day but we are really not sure what we are doing for the day so there might be a lot of free time throughout- but i dont have any real homework to do :( so i guess i will have to find something to entertain me with.

I guess that is it for now....

Crazy but not so crazy weekend

So this weekend was nice- busy and quiet.

Friday we finally had part I of Historian Day Cleanup- we got about half of the photos done... the harder half so we will do more next time (when i can find a day)

Saturday was a Yale Bowl- I was ordered by Keilan to go to IHOP before the game with them which i so kindly did at 7am. The game was basically a washout and we did not do so hot on sales or tips. but it was a fun day non-the-lease.

Saturday night I reformatted my hard drive and then transferred all my material onto it. Sam said it was boring to even think about- and i agree, how did this become my Saturday night?

Sunday- I studied for my physics test which is tonight- so ready for it! And then Sam, Patricia, and I went on a lunch trip which turned into so much more- Staples, Barnes and Noble, Panera Bread, Christmas Tree Shop... Of the things we do...

Sunday night we relaxed- i wrapped some christmas gifts as they both watched me... and then i made a tissue paper chain to go in our kitchen- we have most of our decorations up... and it is yes we know only Novemeber 17th...

Thats it for now- very busy week... but a fun week!

Early Morning???

Hello- well it is 640am and I am up and I have been up since 500am even though i didnt have to get up until 615 for Yale Bowl- Caitlin must be rubbing off on me and i dont even know it. But I mean that makes it 11am in Ghana so I guess I am getting ready.... We are going to IHOP! This is twice this week which is funny because i never do that but ohwell I dont get to see Keilan and steve a lot so I am sorta glad that we get to hang out outside of the actually Bowl...

So yea- just needed something to entertain me for a few minutes...

Okay I am off....

Kung Fu Panda

Hello!

So today was a busy day with the Chinese Acrobats and day two is coming! It was a weird week but everything is fine...just a little weird.

To realize the value of one year, ask a student who failed a grade.
To realize the value of one month, ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby.
To realize the value of one week, ask the editor of a weekly newspaper.
To realize the value of one hour, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
To realize the value of one minute, ask a person who just missed a train.
To realize the value of one second, ask someone who just avoided an accident.
To realize the value of one millisecond, ask the person who won a silver medal at the Olympics.

Treasure every moment that you have! And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time with. And remember time waits for no one.
Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why its called the present.

Just some words for thought.. thats it for now.

African Escapades

Guest Blogger:

So, the time is fast approaching for my African Escapades, and it saddens me to think that I will be leaving my beautiful, caring, highly intelligent roommates behind in Nuevo Haven....oh wait, that's Spanish. Frick. Ok, so anyway, I recently discovered that yes, I know it's a shock, but I'm quite pastey white. Gasp! To begin adapting to my African counterparts, I'm going to begin a strict regimen of tanning and taking ice cold showers, as well as eating a diet solely consisting of leftover food. Don't want the palate to be too refined and go into palate shock (mouth equivalent to culture shock). My roommates are also helping me with the fine art of African Dance, as they are quite skilled in raucous displays of movement and noise. Sometimes I really feel that the theory that we all became homo sapien sapien in Africa and then began diaspora is quite true. My seemingly nerdy, country roommate is quite the home-girl, if you know what I mean. She's even been told she "knows how to shake it".

So I was wondering if you all in the world of blogosphere agree that I should join an African tribe, become initiated through tradtional ritual practices and take on a tribal identity. I was thinking something like "Kungfumidgian". It has a nice ring....oh ring! I could get those really awesome bull-esque nose rings!! I know you know what I'm talking about, and let's be serious, it's a really awesome idea. I am even considering .....(biting lower lip) taking part in a ritual animal slaughter to celebrate the election of Barack Obama. I mean, his Kenyan tribe did it, and if that's not patriotism I don't know what is! Sheesh!

Ok, I'm off to go stand on a bed of hot coals to adjust to the desert-like heat and toughen my feet, because when I'm practicing traditional hunter-gatherer methods of food production I will no doubt be stealthily tracking barefoot in the bush, and I don't want to embarass my tribesmen by complaining about blisters and heat.

Tata for now,

Blister's On My Hands

Hello-

Well today is the first day of November- 70 Days... It seems so far away but it is going to be here before I know it.

Homecoming was today. Our float was kickin' (I designed it! I haven't done design work in a while) The act was not superior but it worked. We will find out in a little bit who won and such.

Last night Sam, Patricia and I had a roomie night. We went to Bobby's Apizza (Car Car's Dad's Place) Their food is so good :) Then we went to see the Secret Lives of Bees. I loved the movie- It has been a while since I read the book but I think they did a very good job portraying the anticts of the book.

Today we are also going to a Habitat Reunion. We are going to dinner. There are many of us going and some people who I havent seen in a while which will be nice. I will be working 8am-8pm tommorow so it will be a long on but its a magic show so it should be fun!

This week is a little busy but nothing I cant handle especially since I dont have any class that starts before 3 now :)...

Thats it for now.

I am trying....

So Chicago closed on Sunday and by Monday night- i got my traditional after the show closes sickness- but this time was worse then ever with both a sinus and ear infection- my head feels like it is about to explode. I have been on prescriptions for about 24 hours and am feeling a little better but really not that much....

My IDS class (Harmonica) class ended on thursday. I was sad for it to end but the time that i am gonna have now is nice. I believe i have a dance quiz on thursday but since i have missed the last two classes because of the infections i really dont know :( I sent in my midterm for ILS :) and got some CSC stuff done. For being sick luckily i was basically caught up so i didnt get behind. This weekend i am in the room all by myself so i am gonna get some things done but also just relax and hopefully my infection will work its way out of my system - cross the finger there.

I bought my plane ticket this week. I leave Jan 11th and return May 20th :) I can not wait... it is becoming so real now.... I am starting to also recieve emails from our advisor in Ghana and our contact in Washington DC so we are getting more paperwork and such to do... cant wait to see all the fun things we get to do :)

Thats it for now..

I am going to start my weekly updates!

So there are about 12 weeks from today to the day that I depart for Ghana. I just received an email from ISEP and we will be learning on January 11th at 10:30pm from JFK :)

I went back to one of my old blogs to get this information:
So you may ask why Ghana? I wanted to study abroad for a long time. I thought about South Africa in High School- But that never happened. I am only getting older and who knows what opportunities will come in the future. I , as most of you know do not like the beaten path but the one less traveled. Ghana is natural. Ghana is reserved. Ghana is peaceful. Cities are nice but i wanted the opportunity to see a land that has not been commercialized and taken over by the corporation that we have almost everywhere else in the world. People take everything around us for granted. Can't we sit back and take a minute and be thankful for what we have? So my goal is to see what i believe, what i want in life, what the meaning of life is (i know its a stretch but this might help.) I want to be able to look back on my life and know that i did the things that I WANTED to do.... so if you have any questions let me know--- i might not have an answer today (7 months before i leave) but hopefully a year from now coming home i can answer questions in a different enlightened way.

I also have recently submitted my application for National Geographic's Glimpse Correspondence Internship program. I will know at the beginning on December. I believe I have some good work but not sure if I have what they are looking for. But you will never know unless you try by submitting application after application for things that you want.

Please remind me if i forget to blog...I will try but a push might be needed.

Long over due.....

So if I was getting fined for not posting items I would be broke...

So the last post was about the Fourth of July and it is now past the half way point in July.... bad Midge... So the run of Rebound and Gagged was a great success. It was extremely difficult to say good bye to the group. They were all great people and amazing to work with. I hope to continue to be friends with them because they were just all so GREAT!!! I miss them greatly and cant believe they have been gone for almost a week. It seems unreal.

Sylvia opened last night. It was a small crowd but they enjoyed the show. Opening night party was a bust but the food was good. The cast and crew went to see Batman in State College, Its a fun drive with some crazy people- the movie was absolutely amazing. As most of you know I am not the biggest comic book person but I enjoyed the movie-- it has been years since I saw the old ones and I watched a little of the newest one the night before but the best thing was you really didnt need to know everything to enjoy the movie. We got back to the dorms a little after 3:30 which kicked me in the ass this morning but i have nothing to do today- I am going to do laundry and then call a show...fun fun...

So I am going to be in PA for one more week then originally expected because they are remounting The Foreigner from Aug 11-17th...My vacation at the end of the summer is getting shorter and shorter- but what did i really have to do... I have a few things i have to for study abroad but thats about it-- and re-frickin pack for school--- I hate this constantly moving... If I had my own car it wouldn't be bad but car to car and place to place sucks...

Well thats it for now... comment...

love.

America's Birthday

So this weekend has been amazing. Thursday night was opening night of Rebound and Gagged- It went extremely well. The opening night gala was lovely and then Lenny opened the bar for us which was awesome- it was a nice relaxing environment for us to celebrate the great opening.

Friday we had a BBQ at Joann's house. The food like always was amazing. The amount pf water balloons thrown was insane and it wasn't that warm. We then went to state college to see Fire works. They were wonderful, it was really much better then Liberty Festival- the fireworks are set off to music which was awesome.... mom said the fireworks at home were only 15 min long which is really short for us-- so i am glad i wasnt there because to work all day for 15 min is nothing.... I did miss the festival though... the homestead was not very busy this fourth compared to years in the past. So being with the Millbrook family was great.

Yesterday (Saturday) we had another show and it went well. We added a little time to the show but it will tighten up tonight. I have faith.... and Monday i start Sylvia rehearsals which should be fun...I was told by the RG group that i am not allowed to be their friends but i will because thats how i am. I uploaded pictures on facebook of RG I promise at some point i will put pictures on the blog it just takes a while and its not something i feel like doing right now :) so sometime soon....

So a house right next to the theatre burned down last night which is ober crazy because we were all talking about it the other day and how creepy of a house it is...

So i think that is it fo now---

Leave me lovin...

Summer Lovin Part 2--

So long time over due entry. show #2 opens today! Wow-- I cant believe it, I have been here for a month already-- where did the time go... I cant beilve the fourth is tomorrow either-- I should be at Veteran's park setting up.. this is soo weird... I am excited about getting the next show started now that two have opened i feel much better about turn over and all....

Things are going very well. This new cast is great.. I will put up pictures soon-- facebook does have the ones from Foreigner though....

Summer Lovin with PA

So last night again went very well. We had one little slip up- but the tech staff will fix that for tonight's performance. Last nights cabaret was delightful. There were a few i was like huh? but thats okay.... its better then all of them. Laura was amazing! So was Jon. They did a really good job with the song.

We went to sheetz because we cant not go and came back to the dorms and played a game of scrabble. I was the score keeper until Matt decided to go to bed and 'we' ended up winning the game. I think we should have a team match in the dressing room. I love that our space plays scrabble and the other group sings, dances, and stampedes upstairs. We are so quiet in our own little world which is loverly.

We are having a laundry mat party this afternoon-- this should be fun- I am so used to doing my laundry by myself---

I start rehearsals tomorrow for Rebound and Gagged-- No show Monday night but we have company preview of the Taffetas on Tuesday- I dont know any of the music so it should be interesting to see.

All is well- the sun is shinning after last night amazing storm... Ready for a new week!

Saturday, June 21, 2008

Second Night Fun!

So last night went extremely well-- No major issues just little toning things that will help with a goods day rest-- haha... like that will ever happen.

The cabaret performance was good last night, but i am looking forward to seeing Laura perform at Disney night tonight.

We went out last night which once again was real fun... I like the professional world for college is already old and i am over the party environment there.

Short and Sweet today-- off

Opening Night Success!

So everything went extremely well last night for opening nigh! We had a sell out performance which was great! The crowd was good which defiantly is a plus.

We then had out opening night party which was nice and then we headed to Uncle Alberts which was relaxing and fun for all of us to hang out and celebrate the opening of the show. A trip to sheetz to complete the evening! and then a little off the beaten path drive to journey- thanks to Kate's CD.

I love everyone in my cast-- they are just great people to work with- I hope the rest of the groups are as great as this first one-- but they have a lot to live up to...

Its my job to keep this show is order now-- this is technically the first time that I have been handed over a show completely because usually the directors i work with are locals-- hmmm...this should be interesting- I promise to get some pictures of the theatre space and all

Now that show #1 is open i am ready to start with the new show---

Life is good in PA. A nap was in order today but it didnt happen....I think I am gonna need some coffee to get through the show.... but that fine because i havent been drinking that much since i got here...

Thats all for now---

Opening Night #1

So tonight is the official opening night of the Foreigner. We had the senior preview night last night and the night before the company preview- They both went very well. I made a few mistakes but nothing major that i wont get right tonight-- I dont know why i missed the props that i did but oh well--- I have the master list now and i will be fine.... The more challenging stuff worked much better tonight after having the rehearsal in the morning to clean up the Cues.... I am currently running 6 different machines in order to make cues happen. An Expression Light Board, Laptop, Sound Board, DVD/CD Player, Toggle Switches for Practicals and House Lights.... There are some very interesting positions and hand movements that i have to do in order to do some of the cues...but thats the fun of the game.

I am bringing my camera to the theatre today so i can get some pictures online for y'all to see. This weekend i should be able to take some out and about because I hope to get out and about for a while.

I am enjoying life in PA and life in the theatre but the little time we get off this weekend will be nice....

Thats it. peace

Saturday, June 14, 2008

I guess Tech Begin

So tech work begins today.... By Monday we should be in tech rehearsals which excites and scares me because I am running both the sound and light board-- oh wait i have done that before...but this time i dont have to mix mics and instruments!!!
I am ready to get the show going-- we are in good shape we only have about 8pages of fine toning to do and then we will be running the acts-- and then the show... We have company preview on Tuesday and the senior preview on Wednesday. This cast has been so great to work with.... It was a great way to start out the summer. Everyone is great- I have finally got to meet some of the other techies which is great because i have been in my own little hole for the week- A large black hole-- What ever it is all good- It is a very fun space to work in... i cant wait to get the tables out and see the space looking more like a theatre and not a rehearsal hall.
I am a little nervous about Rebound and Gagged because it is the show that i know the least. I know Sylvia and Educating Rita is only two people so i feel like that will be a breeze when it is all said and done...
Well I am off to work on lines with some of the cast... leave lovin...

Week #1

Yeah! I get a minute to relax and post something.

So the road trip to PA was a blast. It didn't feel like it took me over 11 hours to get here. The trip was fun...hanging at Kendra's for the cookout was a blast as well. Visiting with Nana and Papa was also nice because it has been a while since i had seen them but they will be down before i know it....

Everyone here is so nice. The theatre space that i am SMing in is very interesting. I will take pictures and post them as soon as I can, but i think i will wait until the set is in there and the space is ready for a performance because right now it is a mess....but inst that how it always goes.

I cant believe it is Thursday Night already.... this week has gone by so fast as i assume the rest of the summer will. The days are long but the people are great and there is no where i rather be then here right now.... (except maybe abroad... but that will be here before i know it).

The cast that I am working with is absolutly wonderful. They all have a great sense of humor but are some of the hardest working people that i have meet. I really havent worked with the other tech staff so sometimes i feel like i am a little on the outside especially because they were here a whole week ahead of me...but soon enough (saturday) we will be on top of each other for a while.

The area that we are in is Beautiful.... there are mountains and rivers and lakes everywhere... and as i crossed into PA and "Aint no Mountain High Enough" was playing (have no idea how that happened) it was sooo nice to know this will be home for the summer. The weather has finally broke a little and it is cooling down which is nice because the weather was so hot and annoying the first two days...but the theatre let us turn on the AC which was real nice because i think we would have all melted....

I am glad i made this choice and it is only day 4... yes there are some frustrations but no matter where i ended up there would have been some....so life goes on and i find a way to get over it...I smile for the day has begun and frown for another day gone....but know that each day is another piece of history in my life.... I am glad that life has taken some of the twists and turns that it has... So as i look forward to the straight line that this summer brings i am ready to have some adventures and challenges to show me a little more....

I am excited for tech to start and for this summer to really start and take flight...

Thats it for now....

Goodbye :)

Today will be my last day in Maine :) I am so ready for the real part of my summer to begin. I leave tomorrow morning for Rhode Island. Lunch with Nana and Papa and then I will be hanging out with Kendra. Its only been two/three weeks but I am so ready for things to get started for the summer.

I am really excited for the drive! It is my first time I am taking a roadtrip and by myself... I cant wait to listen to the CDs that all of my friends made me! They should be good...and entertaining!

I wish the weather was a little better because it is raining and windy once again... i hate this bad weather and cant wait for good weather.

Well thats it for now...

RI again...

So this weekend was as lazy as they get....

I didn't do all to much... I went to Wal-mart 3 times in 24 hours which is pathetic...I helped mom go flower shopping...

Saturday Adam and I hung out which i miss all so much all the time.... It was good-- we rented Juno which none of us (parents) had seen. It was cute... Not as good as i had heard it was....

I went to Rhode Island and back today once again with dad. It was a good trip. Great weather.... but it is making me itch to head to Pennsylvania even more.... Saturday morning and I will be on my way :)

I am almost done packing-- but could be ready if I wanted to but it makes me nerves itch more to leave....

I worked on selecting classes for Ghana-- there are so many details to finding classes that will transfer and what i want to take....

Tomorrow is full of errands all around the twin cities and such... its really the last day i have to get stuff done so i am gonna run around like crazy--- hopefully nothing will hold me up to much because i want to spend as much time with my love Chelsea....we are gonna do dinner and go see Sylvia :)

Sorry this was all over the place.... but thats it for now....

NYC-PA

So I am home in Maine once again.

NYC was great. Our shows went off without a hitch. There was not too much drama which is always nice. The group was well behave and we didn't get into to much trouble. I meet with one of the directors that I am working with this summer. She is really nice and I can't wait to start working in PA. I have been working on a lot of little things at home for the summer but it will seem more real when I am actually at the theatre.

I went to Rhode Island yesterday with Dad. He had a job interview for the Director of the Warwick, RI tech school. He got a call back to come down on Monday. So I will be hitting the road again on Monday. I am planning on going to Freeport on Thursday and will get Carla so she can party with me on Friday night....

I THEN LEAVE ON SATURDAY!!!

I cant wait to get to PA. Its gonna be a great road trip!!! I can't wait...

Thats it for now... More update when I get there...

Early Morn for the Crazy in Me

I leave for the airport at 4:00 am for NYC until Sunday. I am really excited for the festival!!! It will be a blast. It should be a lot of fun between the people who are going down and the things that we get to do. NYC is the best-- but by the end of the week i think i will be ready to go... thats why i wanted to work at a theatre in a smallish size town for the summer-- but when i graduate i think i will be ready for a larger town and larger shows... I think Providence might really be the future town of choice... I like Rhode Island and would like to stay near family....

So i wont have a computer for the week that i am gone so comment and send me messages...

LOVE you ALL

Its not as easy as it looks!

Today I finished reading Rebound and Gagged-- This should be a very interesting show for both the audience and especially my grandparents who are coming down to see it. I have one more to read before I leave on Wed. Then I have to re-read them to create shift plots, costumes, and prop lists.... I love this part of the theatre where i get to spend quality time with a script.

I cant wait for NYC showcase. Not only is my show going-- but 2 other great shows are going and we are gonna rock the Sargent Theatre. We are going to see Curtains and i think i am gonna try to rush MacBeth-- it has great reviews.

I read some of my Ghana book today and learn
the number one cause of death outside of illness in Ghana is hippos-- (you should not get between a hippo and its water or it will stamped you-- it gets a great amount of fear when there is something in the way of its water). This is very good knowledge i think-- something i might not have wanted to know--- but there are many things that are just gonna be a part of the experience. I am ready for new and exciting things-- I like danger and like the unknown...but i like unknown planning.

I think thats it for now...

Is this home?

Is this really home? I will be home for four days and then I am off to NYC for the week-- I leave at 4am on Wed morning and will be back Sunday evening...

I do not have much to do besides reading scripts for the rest of the time that I am home this round.
I bought some books about Ghana and Africa last night. I also did a lot of shopping for Pennsylvania today-- starting to get things together...

Nathan and Issac came over today-- he is getting so big... Issac that is...

I am feeling a little better but I am still stuffed up... I hope I get better before NYC. And all of a sudden my back is killing me, I think it is from coughing to much...

Well not much else to report on...

Home sweet Home?

So I am home in Maine.... I really don't know what Home is anymore and I think as time goes I will really never have a clear picture of what Home is....

Yesterday I woke up with no voice and felt like crap... I am feeling better but my voice keeps cracking and grossness.

We made good time yesterday traveling from New Haven to Maine. I did a ton of work today on getting laundry done and organizing my stuff for Pennsylvania and for the end of the summer because time is of the essence.

I went to Portland today with Adam-- we had a good time. We did a little shopping and then had a nice dinner.

Thats all for now!

Fun Last Night of the Semester! But the Tears are there

Tonight was fun. Keilan, Steve, Mega B and I went to Kumo a Japanese Steakhouse-- A new experience for both Keilan and Mega. I think they liked it! We did have a fun time. We then headed to Ikea for Mega's first time. I was the only one who bought things but that is okay. Its the memories that we made tonight that will live longer then the things bought and the food ate. We returned to room 511-- Which is very empty and lonely, even last night was very lonely... and now that everything of Keilan's is gone and everything but my laptop and bedding is packed i feel like i am in jail.... but so we came back and I got a heart filled road trip bag full of snacks and of course two CDs that i requested so i can have music for the road trip. I have 77.7% of the CDs that was requested according to the math genies (Steve).... The other 33.3% are people from home that i haven't seen yet-- and i didn't expect them to mail them to me because i am going home tomorrow.

I got my packet from Dr. Olson-- i skimmed it but didn't read it word for word because i will do that in the car ride-- I downloaded and printed a few things at the library today but now the book hunting starts-- and i dont think library books will cut it.... lol...These two pictures are the few that I can find of the University of Ghana...

For those who do not know Ghana is in Africa-- on the West Horn. The University is about 15 minutes outside of Accra which is the capitol.

So you may ask why Ghana? I wanted to study abroad for a long time. I thought about South Africa in High School- But that never happened. I am only getting older and who knows what opportunities will come in the future. I as most of you know do not like the beaten path but the one less traveled.

So this is the beginning i promise of at least weekly updates--- and also what is going on else where in my life...

I GOT IN!!

Midsummer is coming along-- I am pleased but we still have the last week before hell week crap going-- but we will get there I am confident that everyone will pull through :)

Its a start

So tomorrow I am going to DRC to hopefully get the waiver for the foreign language requirement because if not I am 1. Not gonna be happy 2. not knowing how I am gonna pass let alone get a good grade in a foreign language. So hopefully everything will work out they way that I want it to.
The day after tomorrow I have my ISEP/Study Abroad Interview with Dr. Olson. I believe everything is ready and I am ready to hand in the application! I am now getting really excited about the prospect of going abroad.
This week has started out well. One of my classes was canceled today which made my very long day a little shorter. I went to a Holocaust Lecture tonight sponsored by PROCON. She was a really good speaker with a lot of emotion behind her story. She was amazing, such a strong women with a strong message that we should love and not hate. I can't even attempt to rephrase her exact words because they were so pure.
Keilan is currently attacking me with my new toy that was given to me by mega. It is an ice cream punch. It has a soft ball that shoots at you. It doesn't hurt but she is having fun attacking me with it.
I guess thats it, except for the habi meeting today it was made clear that Steve is not ready to procreate. I am excited for Spring Break too :)

Thats it for now. Luv.

A New Start

So I guess I am gonna dive into the blog thing. I created this blog to share interesting things that might happen in the next year and beyond.. I have not been accepted but for now I guess I will pretend that I have a reason for writing this blog. I have my interview on Wed for the application process. My application is ready to be submitted and then the long process of waiting to hear if and then where I have been accepted. I have NO DESTINATION IN MIND. Wherever I end up I will be happy because this is an opportunity to do something that is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I see myself for many years moving around with no clear place in mind that I am going to end up.
Why not have fun while I still can. I know in the all so near future I will be settling down and then life will not be so free. So let me take my wings and fly for now. I have always wanted to go to the airport pick a flight and go somewhere with no exact reason or plans and just see what is at the other end. There is no reason to live in fear of what lies on the other side or page of your story. So keep writing and beginning to create a story for all to enjoy. So here is my new start to a new dawn.

And A HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY COUSIN KENDRA!!!!!
